Description:
FROM YOU TO LOVE is Nageen Khan’s first story which she wrote in her teenage years. She had no experience of writing a novel which is why sometimes you will find a little immaturity in some characters. But when you read this novel, you’ll feel the essence of love.
FROM YOU TO LOVE tells the story of cousins who live under the same roof. Between them is love, fighting, and bickering, but they love each other equally. But where love exists, there is also jealousy and ego getting in the way.
FROM YOU TO LOVE is also a story about university friends who find solace in each other and share everything with one another, from sorrows to happiness.

Chapter Eight
Hamza came into his room, but his anger didn’t reduce one bit. What had Inshal thought to slap him. Jokes apart, she had hurt his pride. His bruised ego has awakened today. That’s why people with strong egos and intense emotions need to be handled with love and care, as they can be quite rebellious. Because what Hamza did was also because of his emotional outrage, and now he went to shower to lower his anger.
After showering, he became a little peaceful. His phone was continuously ringing, which triggered his anger again, so he smashed the phone against the wall, and the phone broke into two pieces.
When his anger didn’t reduce for one bit, he opened the cigarette pack from the drawer and went outside to the terrace. He smoked all night trying to find peace in the smoke of a cigarette.
They say anger makes you lose your senses, and Hamza’s anger had also clouded his judgement because peace of heart lies with One who created us, yet he was searching for it in intoxication. How foolish he was.
Inshal and Hamza both differed from each other. Both had the same destination, but their paths were different. One path has thorny roses, while the other has a stony road. One has chosen the straight road while the other has chosen the bumpy road because, whatever the destination is, we choose our own path. We’ll just have to see whether they share the same destination or whether like their paths, their destinations are different.

The sun of the next morning rose on time. Time waits for no one. It doesn’t care if someone is happy or sad, and that’s the biggest quality of time. Time doesn’t remain the same. And just like that, the time of two people searching for their destinations also passed as they continued their search.
It was breakfast time in Randhawa Mansion. Everyone was present at the dining table, apart from Ayesha Begum, Hamza and Inshal. Ayesha Begum was busy in the kitchen, but both Hamza and Inshal hadn’t woken up yet.
“Where are Nisha and Hamza? Go call them. Today I am going home anyway,” Bani Dadi said.
“Leave it, Bani Dadi, please try my favourite cheese omelette.” Zaid has an idea that Hamza has spent all night burning cigarettes while Inshal must have also done her favourite hobby, which was crying all night. That’s why both haven’t woken up yet.
“Yeah.. Yeah my dear, I’ll try it, but you, go call them. Come on,” when Bani Dadi insisted, then Zaid had to get up helplessly. He goes towards Hamza’s room first.
When Hamza didn’t open the door after continuous knocking, Zaid thought to call him. It was a blessing that Hamza’s, Inshal’s, and Zaid’s rooms were upstairs; otherwise, if they (People downstairs) heard a continuous noise of knocking, they would have scolded Zaid.
Hamza answered the call after twenty tries.
“What’s the problem?” Hamza’s tone was furious.
“Come on, man, everyone is waiting for you.” Zaid said
“I am not at home,” and then he hung up.
Zaid didn’t press the matter any further as he knew of Hamza’s ego and anger, so he turned towards Inshal’s room.
“What are Hamza and Inshal saying?” Imar asked Zaid who was coming towards them.
“I called Hamza, and he said he is not at home and Nisha api is not opening the door.” Zaid said softly.
“Nisha came to my room after Fajar. She is sleeping now because she has a fever. Today she didn’t have any class, so I didn’t wake her.” Ayesha Begum said, sipping tea.
“Oh, and Hamza… where has he gone this early?” Bani Dadi asked Saima Begum.
“I don’t know.. He does what he pleases.” Saima Begum doesn’t like Bani Dadi’s interrogatory tone, so she replied rather rudely and then, with a frown, started her breakfast.
Hamza is my son, so why is everybody concerned with his whereabouts?
“Oh, leave it, bani Dadi …tell us when will you come again.” Imar tried to nullify his mother’s behaviour.
“When Allah pleases, I will visit Beta,” Bani Dadi answered softly; however, today Saima Begum was behaving strangely. She got up from the dining table, and everyone felt awkward, so they got busy with their breakfast.
To Be Continued…
Translator Note:
As this is the author’s first attempt at a long novel, its sentence structure is a bit messed up. No offense to the author, of course. We all learn from our mistakes.
I just want to clarify that readers will find some of the sentences strange, and it’s due to the language, as a long sentence may not be that long in English. Besides, I am rather new to translating too, but I have translated these chapters to the best of my ability. And now I have another translator on board with me. We both will try to translate it as accurately as possible, but of course, there will be mistakes, so bear with us. And if you find something off-putting, you can always comment on it.
Thanks,
